Key aspects of a production line...
Mass ProductionMass production refers to the process of creating large numbers of similar products efficiently. Often seen in large factories are conveyor belts, machines and systems which create large masses of goods.
Timing and precisionThe machines are timed perfectly to create objects and products which are as similar as possible. The machines are precisely measured to ensure each item fits perfectly into the position necessary to create the items.
Assembly line workersOften in large factories there are assembly line workers which create products such as food, machinery and electronic goods. See the video below for more information on assembly lines.
Production lines in action!
This video shows a range of objects, foods and products being created by machines. The machines heat, squash, mold, squeeze, cut and pack the objects so humans do not need to do it manually (by hand).
This video shows a combination of production lines and assembly lines which are used to make prepackaged sandwiches. Ever wondered where your store bought sandwich came from?
